THE MISSION

The NAACP is the nation's oldest and largest civil rights organization, founded in 1909. Twenty years later, in 1929, the Main Line Branch was chartered to carry that mission into the townships along Philadelphia's western rail corridor.

Our work is local by design: gifted-track access in Lower Merion schools, police–community relations, fair housing, criminal justice reform, and voter engagement across every township the branch serves.

Serving: Lower Merion · Radnor · Haverford · Tredyffrin/Easttown · Great Valley · Upper Merion

COMMUNITY IN ACTION

"We ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons — and work to eliminate racial hatred and discrimination."
